Pumpkin Farm

On October 18th Nanny Teresa called that she will not make it so I decided to take kids to the pumpkin farm. The weather turned out to be nice and we had lots of fun. They had pony rides, jumping pillow, lots of animals to see and feed and giraffes. Here are some pictures:

Huge update

I meant to wright this post soooo soooo long ago. I kept some notes thankfully - here we go:
  • 10/08/2010 - my first phone conversation with Gabi, she actually held the phone by here ear. We said "I love you" and "I miss you" to each other
  • We call Patrick "chomik" because he keeps food in his mouth and it takes him some time to finish what he eats
  • after their bath we come to our bad and hide under the sheets, Gabi and Patrick snuggle there beside us (or me if I am by myself), Patrick shows shhh with his finger (looks adorable)
  • almost every night we play "stary niedzwiedz mocno spi" where I chase them and they hide behind the door or in the closet
  • in the morning - when Jacek is around - he turns on a music on his cell - it is "Alejandro" by Lady Gaga and they dance - Patrick loves this music and he loves to dance! He looks so cute and he smiles and is so happy then
  • Patrick is at this stage that he wants to do everything what Gabi do:
- at Dominick's she was eating a bun with poppy seeds and he wanted one, she got waffles with Cooking Munster and he wanted one

- she jumps on the couch - Patrick wants too!
  • it was very windy the other day and nanny said "o matko, tak wiatr wieje ze malo glowy nie urwie" and Gabi understood it word by word, she was concern and when they left McDonald's she was holding her head to make sure that the wind will not blow it away.
  • Gabi has been evaluated for speech, she is little delayed and started Madison early Childhood, she goes there every day and takes bus which she loves the most.
  • On September 18th Gabi started Saturday Polish School - she likes it too:)
                          Leaving for Polish School

                        • On August 18th we met with Tanya and Orli at Family Ground Cafe http://www.familygroundcafe.com/ , I enjoyed coffee and nice conversation with my friend and Gabi had two huge train tables for herself. Patrick had fun with everything! Then, I took them to Morton Arboretum www.mortonarb.org/forkids.html , weather was beautiful and we had a blast.

                        A trip to Dominick's

I had to get some things so I had a talk with Gabi:
(Me) - Gabi - mommy is not going to buy you any gums, candy, gummies or trains ok?
                        (Gabi) - ok
(Me) and you won't cry right?
                        (Gabi) yes
So we were shopping and a moment later she brought me a Chinese soup that you pour hot water in and wait until its ready to eat.
(Gabi) - mommy - good tak? Gabi am, ok?
What could I say? This smart cookie found something for herself anyway:)
We got home and she ate the whole thing...

                        Lazy Sunday

Gabi and Patrick went to Babcia Basi and Stasiu for sleep over. They love to go there because they get 100% attention and Stas always comes up with new fun things to do. Jacek left to work on Sunday morning and I picked them up. We left to see Eliza's grave and Patrick felt asleep in the car and Gabi followed him so I went back to Babcia Basi house. I left her in the car since I knew she would wake up if I move her. I wanted her to nap for few minutes so we could stay and play some more when she wakes up. Stas was cleaning up his garage and was watching her through an open door. Patrick woke up when we arrived but I gave him some milk and he felt asleep again. He was waking up constantly so I laid down and lied him on myself. We napped like that for over an hour. It was so nice to have him so close to me and he was so peaceful. I loved this nap!
After they woke up we went for a walk around the pound. Then Ciocia Marta i Ciocia Ala came so they played with kids some more. It was a truly lazy Sunday!

                        Halloween 2010

The weather could be better. It was cool but sunny and Gabi had a great time and Patrick did not care:) Gabi was dressed up as a Pink Dragon and Patrick was a Frog. On Saturday, October 30th there was a trick or treat in Elmhurst Center so after Polish School we went there and we were walking from businesses to businesses. Gabi loved the idea and was very excited about each candy she got:) We did not spend too much time there because there were too many people and we got tired quickly. On Sunday it was much cooler and we just went over 2-3 houses before Gabi decided that she was cold and wanted to go home. Patrick loves outside and would love too stay but his two ladies were freezing and he had no other choice:)

                        Party at Babcia Basi house

We continued our celebration that weekend at Babcia Basi house in Hoffman Estate. All family members and our Polish friends were invited. The weather was amazing, food was good (that's what everyone said at least) and kids had a blast! Gabi loved the moon jump again and Lukasz was there so she was in heaven. Patrick was great, walked a lot, smiled all the time, perfect. We really had a great time. Wujek Bartek was taking pictures that turned to be amazing.

Gabi 3 and Patrick 1 Birthday Party

We started this celebration on Friday - Jyly 30th. All kids from playgroup came over. We had snacks, pizza and cup cakes. I ordered moon jump that was a huge hit. Gabi loved it! Everyone had such a great time, there were many giggles and laughs:) We did not ask for presents although some guests did not listen. We had a piggy bank for collage and our friends made small donations. We were so grateful to have all of them over! (Carter, Alexis, Ryan, Molly, Lexi, Victoria, Evangelina, London, Brinkley, Ainsley, Joaquin, Raquel, Quamelia, Thomas, Allison, Charlie, Jana and Jamie)

Patrick is one today! Gabi turned 3 on Saturday!

My little man is 1 today! I cannot believe that they are 3 and 1 already. This has been an amazing year - full of laughter, hugs, kisses, and .... sleepless nights which is ok in exchange of how much love I got. I think this was the best year so far. I am crazy about Gabi and Patrick, love them to death and will do anything for them.

Gabi is a great big sister. She calls Patrick "baby" and gives orders like - "baby no, no", "baby - tam", "baby sit" She pushes him around but at the same time makes sure he is well. He kisses him and hugs him and she is better on sharing her loved trains and cars (yes, she is still crazy about those:)) On Monday I took them on Metra train ride since nanny Teresa got sick. It was so much fun. Every night before we go to bed I tell Gabi a story about girl Gabrysia. Each day the story is about Gabi's day. However, since Monday the story every night is about the train ride - I don't know what the deal is with those trains but Gabi's affection is not going away!

Patrick runs around, loves spray ground, goes under the water falls like a pro and smiles constantly. He loves to look at tomatoes in our garden behind the garage. If I cannot see him it means he is there. Hi gives high fives, knows how to say hi, claps his hands and loves to dance. As soon as he hears music his head and butt are moving:) Did I mentioned that he is adorable? Last night Gabi said "cute baby"

This morning, Teresa said that she is making coffee for herself. Gabi yelled - "me too" so nanny gave her 2 small pices of instant coffee, pured milk and both of them are drinking their coffees from fancy coffee cups - I wish I was there to take a picture!

My co-worker - Sandra Borto bought Patrick a saving bond. I am to remind him when he is ready to cash it that so many people thought about him today. Sandra is wonderful and carrying and I hope Patrick will have friends as good as she is!

One thing happened on Gabi's B-day - our basement got flooded. Everything must be replaced. But we don't care. It's not that important.

                        Summer of 2010

We spend most of the days outside now. This summer is really warm and sunny. I spend all afternoons with Gabrysia and Patrick and enjoy any minute of it! They are so cute, adorable and I love them so much. I am crazy about them.

Gabi learned how to swim so well. She still does not want to follow the instructor during her short classes at British Swim School - she wants to do her own thing which is jumping into water:)

Patrick is amazing. He walks better every day. He likes to chase Gabi or being chased by me. He laughs a lot and wants to do everything Gabi does. She sits on counter top and he wants to do it. She is an ice cream and he wants too! He still does not sleep very well - he wakes up 2-3 times a night. I am praying he will start sleeping better soon. He is very physical, claimes on anything he can.

Almost a month ago we got Gabi her very best own bed. She loves it and sleeps in it without any problems. She is not the kind that comes to someones bed. I think she is afraid of dark because if she needs us she calls us. Jacek misses her so much. When he is home she ends up in our bed anyway because he likes to sleep when she is close to him.

Three times a week Gabi goes to Safari Day care. She likes it and brings bunch of projects home. She plays with other kids and starts to speak new words every day. Slowely get better on that.

Two weeks ago we went to DuPage Children's Museum. I was amazed how well Gabi did everything. She is able to analyze somethings, look at cause and effect and can absorb so many new things. Patrick is the same way! He did so well with balls, he was able to put them in the right spot with no problems. I am so proud of them.

                        Gabi's first dentist visit

Well, it did not go well. Gabi was brave and willing to go. I tried to prepare her, we read a book with Elmo and the dentist office. I told her that the dentist will count her teeth. Everything was fine until it was time to open her mouth. She started to scream, call that she was afraid and that she has an awee. The dentist tried to see something but Gabi baited her. That was the end of the visit. I called Jacek right after and told him the whole story and he happily said "that's my girl" - grrrrr - guys! Thankfully, everything looks good and since she does not complain about anything I can assume that all her teeth are healthy!

Memorial Weekend and The World's Largest Swimming Lesson

Memorial Weekend was very peaceful. We went for swimming class like every Saturday, then went shopping and spend some time outside. They open splash ground at The Hub in Elmhurst so we went there on Saturday and Sunday. Patrick was careful but really loved it and Gabi unlike last year was all over the place - running through all the waterfalls. They had a blast!

On Sunday night Gabi and Patrick went for sleepover at Babcia Basi. Gabi loves to go there. We took out small pool and they had a great time. Patrick was crawling in the water and was happy about the whole freedom he got in the water. I am very happy that both of them like water so much and are not afraid of it. When we came back on Monday around noon both of them were sleeping:)

Memorial weekend is the weekend Patrick started to walk for good. He is very excited to do it. He is a good walker already. He started to walk exactly at the same time Gabi did. They are so alike.

Weather is so nice. We go to playground a lot or just stay in the back yard. Gabi helps me to water flowers each evening. Most of the time she sprays one are of the ground with no flowers on it or washed the car - no wonder it takes me 30 minutes.

On June 3rd both Gabi and Patrick were part of The World's Largest Swimming Lesson. We went to Marriott Hotel when British Swim School was hosting the event. It was really nice and people from Sydney, Australia and Honolulu, Hawaii were doing it at the same time.

The other day I showed Patrick a game. I say "Baranki, Baranki - puk"and we hit each other by forehead. He loves that and laughs out loud. Gabi does the same version but she likes me to say "lekko" which means not to hard - and she touches me very gently or "mocno" - hard and then she takes two steps back and runs into my forehead - it hurts a little but she has so much fun!

On Saturday (June 5th) I signed up Gabi for Elmhurst Library Summer Reading program. We rented few books. She is supposed to read 5 books a week. We have to write the title and she will get a price for it. It should not be a problem because she loves to read books.

                        Patrick is 10 months old!
